Silver Linings 2020
Silver Linings 2020 – yes there were actually quite a few!
Silver Linings – yes there were actually quite a few glorious silver linings on some of our clouds that we can tuck into our work year in spite of the challenges.
While it has been challenging for most businesses to adjust, adapt and yes that dreaded word “pivot” we all had to step up and think out of the box to make a go of this 2020 year. Who could have known that a curveball called Covid-19 would cause such havoc this year! Our hearts bleed for the many industries that are still trying to fight and claw their way back to some form of functionality and income flows. The hospitality and travel as well as the creative arts have really had to take the knock big time on the chin.
We are so grateful that we were already functioning with online shopping on our site, and although we had to wait till last to be able to open up and continue trading during the hard lockdown in South Africa, we were back trading towards the end of level 4.
During the hard lockdown, we took the decision to knuckle down and join up with any eCommerce and small business coaching that started to happen online during the lockdown. We worked really hard (to the point that we are actually quite exhausted and looking forward to a small break from December till after New Year) and made small adjustments where ever we could. Looking back we are really grateful for the amazing coaches and organizations that offered so much online input to assist small businesses to jump some of the hurdles that they were facing and would be facing as we progressed with the year 2020.
Doing online conferencing took on a whole new meaning, and although some of them were more like mega marathons – everyone was trying to learn and adjust to a new way of doing things.
Three of our mega learning curves were with The Lions Den and tactician Leon Lategan, a mega weekend conference with Real Success run by Brian Walsh and our very own eCommerce Guru Warrick Kernes from Insaka. And yes we are still implementing small changes as we grow and work daily. What a way to give back by offering many free starter webinars where small businesses could really learn basic points to set them up for success.
Our very own Silver Linings 2020

Silver Linings 2020
And while we push forward to the nearing year-end of 2020 it is our wish that all our clients and business associates find their very own silver linings in 2020 when they look back on this challenging year. They are there to be found and when we focus on them our priorities straighten out and we find renewed strength and courage to push through and see hope in 2021 again. Yes we may still have challenges and business may not be as usual, but if we find our way through this we can come out better on the other side!
We for one are extremely grateful for our little silver linings 2020 and we are striving to end our year in such a way that another silver lining can shine on us as we end this business year in a great way with our last quarter which includes the Festive Season and year-end gifting period.
Our favourite quote that is part of our foundation in our business is really rather apt as we look at our very own appreciation of the many great experts who stepped up and gave back to help others during a time of great uncertainty and stress. And in doing so they made us part of their excellence as well.
